Photometric chart?

[christopher long]

Hi there,

I'm looking for a chart that shows the output in foot candles of a range of different film lights; something that is easy to read and shows how much light is available at different distances from the lamp. Does anyone know of such a chart?

Most manufacturers do this for their products on their respective websites. Mole has had nicely presented info for decades. Lowel does it, KinoFlo, LitePanels, etc. ARRI does it quite well on their website with an interactive calculator tool, and now they also have an App for your smartphone & tablet that does this as well.

Now if we can just get them to all standardise the bloody distances they take photometric measurements at so that comparable units can actually be easily compared - we'll be laughing!

The standard can be metric or imperial, nobody cares - just make the distances standardised!

Agreed. I just looove looking at 3,5,7 ft. on one chart and 2,4,6 ft. on the other.
