I took pictures for a couple and the man is going to be on a tv late night show (don't know if I can say names or the show). The man asked if the show could use a picture that I took. I have no problem with this and am not looking for any compensation (I was paid to take the pictures originally) but I don't know how to release the picture. Do I just say yeah sure go ahead, or is there a good release form available. If it makes any difference I did have the person sign a model release when I took the pictures, so I do own the image and the rights to that image.

Any tips or info would be greatly appreciated.

If your looking for a marketing opportunity, you might consider releasing it with a photo credit. I would sure like our firm's name on something seen by millions? of people.

Keep in mind...the words you are looking for are "non-exclusive, single-use license" (in addition to alot of other language).

If you are a professional (ie. this is how you make a living), you should invest in hiring a good IP attorney in your area and develop a licensing agreement. They can usually get you about 85% there for a template, and give you insight on how to customize it for individual client situations...Make sure they know about copyrights for creative artists - patent and trademark attys typically don't have as much experience when it comes to film and stills.

Thanks, for the info and yeah I will see if I can get a photo credit. I don't make my living off of photography its more of a side business / hobby. But it still can't hurt right:)
