Hey Gang,

Hopefully everyone had an enjoyable holiday season.

Got around to looking at some test footage for an upcoming short.

Couldn't help but throw something together.

It was Alexa (we are going Dragon for the actual shoot) but we were really testing out the K35s.
Had about 6 hours. Fun just running around town to a few different scenarios we wanted to see.

Kinos in the convenient store? It looks really good -- does Dragon handle that well?

How are the K35s mechanically (or was the op also pulling focus)?

Sorry Mike, I answered without looking what ended up in this little thing.

The only stuff we lit was using a broncolor parabolic light inside a house.

We didn't light any of the ones in the clip.

The K35s were not in the best shape. Cool glass but definitely not modern smooth mechanics.

Patrick how did the K35's compare to your old rehoused Contax glass?

They are similiar in terms of where they shine.

They are different in terms of how they shine.

My Contax set was mechanically 10 times better than the K35s. The focus gears were really poor and the smoothness of the focus rotation was worse than when I first got my Lomo Anamorphics and they hadn't been serviced or used in about 10 years.

Both offer a slightly less perfect image that adds a lack of contrast and a nice patina in certain situations.
