  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Peter Jackson tests Dragon prototype on the Hobbit

He isn't shooting it on The Hobbit.

"We won't be using the Dragon for Hobbit shooting during our last two days, but it gave the camera team a welcome diversion"

Jim! Why haven't we heard about this? Maybe I missed it somewhere? Awesome :)

Phil Holland did mention it on the Dragon thread moments after PJ posted it.

Today on Facebook Peter Jackson posted an image of Dragon out in the wild:

Sorry. Correction. I meant it as in they are testing it during the last couple days of shooting...not to be used for the hobbit tho. But I just haven't heard anything about PJ testing it. Thanks I'll have to check the other thread...

:D

It's a great idea by Peter's camera team to test Epic M-X and Dragon under same lighting conditions. They will probably learn a lot from that test. Hopefully they will also share their findings, though quite often those camera tests never surface for public consumption. But maybe Jim can manage to get a hold of the tests. :-)

Nice backstory on Peter Jackson's take on the naming of Dragon.

LOL @ Stu A.

I hope this won't be totally internal tests and footage will be published eventually, at least some bits of it like the trailer and clips from Crossing the Line. Too bad I wasn't among the lucky ones to watch the short in it's entirety.

Looking at that pictures makes me think : Why doesn't PJ have a proper handheld shoulder configuration?

Strange shoulder setup.
