This may not be a big a deal to many. For anyone using more than 7 Cameras each day It's HUGE and Extremely POWERFUL.
For me it was my first request when API was released. I discovered the protocol by using 3d Mode/ mitm.. when the Epic was released. I wrote my own Library before the documentation, and I was quite frustrated with the cameras giving me details I do not want, and not requested (pitch/roll/dshist).
This is a monumental move in the most perfect way. I applaud the work that has lead me to write software to control massive multiple arrays of cameras. Now I can do it with even more efficiency and accuracy with less resources.
Seriously, Performance is the best with Periodic Data OFF. Timecode Only.
