Pentax lenses on Red?

I have a nice Pentax K-10D camera, which uses the Pentax PK mount. Is it possible to use these lenses on the Red? IMS does not offer a direct Pentax adaptor, but are there third party products available that could turn the Pentax into, say, a Canon mount? (possible eBay link)

If your Pentax has M42 mount, than you would need M42 to Canon EOS (dumb) or M42 to Nikon F adapter.

Then will work on IMS or RED Nikon F mount.

There are Pentax K to Canon EOS adapters on Ebay, e.g. this one

Should work fine on Red with one of the Canon dumb mount solutions.

With a bit more research, I found out that the K mount should also work on PK bodies (source):

K-mount lenses can be used on all Pentax bodies, but can only be used in stopped down mode with "crippled" KAF mount bodies

So I just ordered a cheap adapter from eBay for under 20 bucks (source), then I can see if it works.

Hi guys, sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I'm very curious to know if anyone has used Pentax glass on Red? I have a few of these lenses and am collecting some more (28/3.5 35/2.0 50/1.4 55/1.8 85/1.4 135/3.5 etc). I know their probably not 4K worthy, but should be great on 7D or scarlet.

Hey Martin, I was wondering if you've shot anything yet with your Pentax lens? I have a Ricoh lens on my old 35mm camera and I think they're both made by Pentax so I was wondering how it made the RED footage look.

Pentax have some excellent primes in their current lineup, esp the "Limited" lenses. 21mm f/3.2, 31mm f/1.8, 43mm f/1.9, 77mm f/1.8. Would love to see how these look on Red!

What about the Pentax 6x7 lenses for the Red/Epic? Does anyone make a PL adapter for those lenses. The made some very nice long lenses that would cover a 6x7cm piece of film.

Pentax 6x7 has 84.95mm FFD, so a simple PL mount adapter should be possible. I bet Les Bosher can make one for you.

Heheheh... I was speaking about that with a friend yesterday... I have a Pentax 45, a 75, a 105 and a 180mm, today practically useless... maybe in a few years, with a future Epic 670?

I have a 10-20mm Sigma for my Pentax that I occasionally use on my R1. Not a perfect solution, as i have to use a small piece of paper to adjust the aperture. But a very sharp lens, and at the price a no-brainer. Once I sell my Pentax body (anyone interested?), I'll get a Canon version.
