Pentax K mount to EOS adapter

Is it safe to use PK to EOS adapters with "AF confirm" with the RED Canon mount? I have some nice old Takumar's that I would love to use on my RED.

I just want to make sure the electronics are not going to mess with the camera mount or camera.
