I just got a Scarlet Dragon last week. I just want to say that I am blown away by the images.

I'm trying to outfit a Pelican 1510. I wonder if it is tall enough with the top and bottom plate. I have the wc cage and if I remove the dovetail clamp it seems to sit in there OK. When I close the lid, it feels as if the foam in the lid is closing down on it pretty heavily on the camera. I saw some pics of Epics on searches (in fact that's where I got the idea of where to put the A box) and so I know guys are using them. It just seems so tight. I have an 1560 for my other camera which seems like it might be a better bet. I do most of my jobs from my car but wanted to see if I could get the 1510 as a flight case. Maybe I should just do something else like a think tank for that, some kind of backpack.

Also, does anyone place the 7" monitor on end in a 1510.

I think this case is too small for the Dragon with the plates. Plus the screws on the dovetail are big and to constantly take them on and off means carrying a huge flathead or tearing them up . I want to leave it on there. I'm sending it back. Thanks for looking. I'm thinking 1564 http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/388345-REG/Pelican_1560_004_110_1564_Waterproof_1560_Case.html

Anyway, any suggestions or experience on how to set this up, experiences with cases, how to safely orient the brain, monitor, use the foam, don't use the foam? I'm thinking padded. I like the pads, not fond of the pick and pluck... I've seen some posts with Trek Pak http://trekpak.com/. I wonder if it's worth the added expense over pads.

Ok.

do you use sidehandle? if not then put it sideways in and works well. and if the foam pushes on the camera that is good as the camera wont move around it the case

I don't use the side handle. I do have nato rails on both sides and an Abox. I tried it. It might work. Thanks. The nato rails would be taking the weight. It seems a little wobbly but once supported it might be ok. Thanks for the suggestion.
