I'm looking at a few other workable options for live storage. The Pegasus3 R8 is very attractive but I've only got two notebooks (MacBook Pro 2016 w/ Touchbar) and a PC tower (Maingear) that is Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) compatible. I still have a few iMac 5K systems that are Thunderbolt 2, only. Does anyone know if there is a crossover/converter/dongle/whatever that will allow me to connect the Pegasus3 R8 TB3 to the TB2-only iMac 5K?

Apple has a tb3 to tb2 converter and it lets me link up my macbookpro 2016 w/touchbar to my pegasus 2.

I asked Apple and B&H this exact question and they both say the Pegasus3 should work with TB2 computers if you have the Apple TB3-TB2 adapter. But I have read buyer comments that claim otherwise. I'd proceed with caution unless you can return the unit if it doesn't work with your TB2-only machines. I think I'll be sticking with the Pegasus2 for now.

I was just testing Pegasus drive mounts thru 10g networks between win 10 and sierra. I am leaning to always connecting thunderbolt drives to the Mac side and just network mounting from windows, this is working pretty good so far. I have had various thunderbolt issues on drives with win 10 in the past.
