I'm really into small cameras and how they let you move them. Very into the handheld possibilities, slider dollies, etc.
BUT I love the way you get a little pedestal with the Chapman and Fisher dollies. A lot of the "Classical" moves rely on it.
But I can't afford to rent one for my dSLR!
Is there any kind of three-foot mini jib available for something like the Dana Dolly that would allow a very small rig (smallest Scarlet rig with a tiny prime, dSLR, camcorder, etc. -- I mean like a four-pound and under camera) to have this capability? When I storyboard I am always thinking with pedestal as an option and for reframing it's often a very necessary one.
Thanks!
