I have... sort of. I use Scratch, so processed some clips (outside of conform process) to DPX for VFX plates. VFX done in Nuke, rendered out and turned into Cineform 2k 4:4:4 for editing in Premiere Pro to drop the clips back in and do 5.1 audio mix.

Theoretically this could be done on an entire, but disk space (DPX) and file conversion (DPX to Cineform or other codec that allows realtime on 'lesser' systems) would have a noticeable impact on $ and turnaround time.

I would definitely consider this for short form stuff like commercials and music videos but would have to really consider the extra processing time and/or storage for longform projects.

You can have 2 out of 3: fast, cheap, good - but not all 3 just yet!

regards,

jt
