World travel experts - I'm looking for some insight!

I've been asked to put together a budget for a company based in Canada that would like to do work in several different locations around the world. I was wondering if taxes, therefore, get paid to both the US and Canada, or if it depends upon the country we shoot in?

You really need to be more clear in what you are asking. I also wouldn't trust anything not told to me by an accountant.

I hope some of the people on here have some decent travel experience under their belts!

I'm asking this: if a company in another country hires me (in this case, Canada), would I owe both the Canadian government and US government money on earned income, or just the US (under the Foreign Earned Income tax)? It's something that would help me better quote a price on this project.

Since what you are asking amounts to "tax advice", I suggest you consult a knowledgeable US and/or Canadian CPA. However, generally speaking, if you are a US citizen the IRS takes the position that you owe income taxes in the US on income earned, no matter where it was earned. There are exceptions to that, based upon the existence of double taxation treaties between the US and foreign countries and perhaps the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion, if you are eligible for that exclusion.

Sweet, thanks for the thoughts Bill!
