  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Awesome Jarred. Where's the bit where Brian told you he has a Scarlet for that mad fireman from reducer who climbs volcanoes?

BTW don't take this toto serious;ly I'm toasted after thanksgiving hope you guys had a great one too :)

Mike

Mike just remember, you not the only Mike who is a qualified fireman (ok at the volunteer level and not practising) who is a madman, and climbs and films erupting volcanos and ordered a scarlet at virtually the same time! If they bump you up, please mix my order up with his!

I'll be your second unit for some jobs I'm sure Mike! Let's hope for quick delivery and photogenic drive-in eruptions. And I'm going to start thinking about a lighter set of sticks for Scarlet.

Don't forget I'll also end up (fingers crossed!) with fractional ownership of a Stage 3 EPIC in the not too distant future... I'll do the 300FPS slow-mo work :)

Production is ramping up dramatically. We hate being in perennial back order. We are going to change that part of our business. Watch.

Jim
We can tell all ready.

Most excellent!

This has been my only complaint about Red ... but its been a complaint that has been there since day one.

I had (well Clapboy Films had ) an EVF on backorder for so long ... it was almost a year. I've stopped working with them since - they never got it while I worked with them.

Things are already lightning fast compared to the "old days" but its still far from where I know you guys are headed.

This has been a struggle for you guys, but I absolutely love how you are getting it done. No compromises on quality and made in the USA to boot!

You may resume rocking out ;)

Jim/Jarred, i always get so hyped when you guys post these photos! really cool to see some of how our cameras are made!

Not sure if you're able to do this, but it would be really sick to see a video tour or at least a little montage of how everything goes down there.

Really, and this is something i would love to do personally, but it would be awesome to see a time lapse of one Epic/Scarlet being made... using the timelapse feature on the Epic/Scarlet!!

...please?

you guys aren't hiring still, are you? where can i forward my resume :wink5:

I love this culture of openness and sharing. No one would blame you if you did not reveal any details of how the world's best cameras are being built, but the fact that you choose to do so only endears Red to its customers more and establishes a connection. This is the substance behind the hype.

Can anyone imagine Canon sharing such details? The willingness to share behind-the-scene details is also an insight into the Red mindset: Complete confidence in self. Let other see what we are doing today, by the time they copy our current methods we will innovate and be a step ahead. Again.

Bravo.

Very aspirational and inspirational. Maybe one day I too have antistatic/ESD white flooring as far as the eye can see on US soil.

Very encouraging; These things ARE possible and very doable... (with the right core tallent and vision).

[Also handy for current parallel discussion].

Cheers,

Eric
