On the third day of a commercial shoot for Jim Beam with the Paralinx. It's working flawlessly. Well done guys

Ed, what monitor are you sending the image to (Video Village)?

Hello Dan,

Thanks so much for making a great product. I bought it for an steadicam shoot and it worked flawless. I'm really happy with it. I have few questions.

What's the main difference between the P-tap regulated cable you provided and the small Viewfactor p-tap usb adaptor. I have both and ofr steadicam I think the viewfactor is less bulky. Is it safe to use it instead the regulated you provided? Is there any draw back?

If shooting in the USA, do you recommended to activate the 2 and 3 bands for more stability? Do we do it with the remote control and the receiver?

Also I have a bunch of Sony L batteries and I was thinking to buy a NEBTEK LIBA: Lithium-ion Battery Adapter with a 5V output. Do you think it'll work? I'm really hesitating on here because the USB Lenmar PPW66 you recommended looks great and if it last half day it's a great deal. But I think for making a receiver portable stations, the sony l battery pack might be easier to mount it to rods or whatever system i come with.

On this last note, do you have any suggestions on the best way to rig the receiver with monitor and batteries for a focus puller to use on a shoot?

Thanks again and congratulations on the product. It's been a long ride since the HDflow ages. But I'm glad finally there is something like the Arrow in the market. Now the Hd flow I own is my back up wireless system.. :-)

Hi Ivan! Thanks for your support and purchase!

i will answer your questions directly below:

We offer two different regulator products (actually 3)

1st gen - bulky / ugly - built out of necessity. Max 18v input 5v 2a output.

USBTap - our 2nd gen lightweight 5v 2A cable. 7-22v in 5v 2a output. Default included cable

REGULATOR - add on 8-24v in 5v 2A out cool looking, shorter cable.

I Love Viewfactor but if you need lightweight and "officially supported" I only use paralinx. It has higher input ratings - If you know your source or your sled the viewfactor can work, but if you are using a rented or unknown power source I can only warranty something using a Paralinx power supply (5v USB battery exempted)

If shooting in the USA, do you recommended to activate the 2 and 3 bands for more stability? Do we do it with the remote control and the receiver?

absolutely - band 2 and 3 are USA legal and give better performance all around.

Also I have a bunch of Sony L batteries and I was thinking to buy a NEBTEK LIBA: Lithium-ion Battery Adapter with a 5V output. Do you think it'll work? I think the Nebtek would be cool - have not tested one. We are working on some new things but I don't have a delivery date for them yet, so if you need "today" there are a lot of good options. I just use a bongo tie to hold the Lenmar onto the handles that I use for director's monitors - works pretty slick.

power into Arrow TX or RX must not exceed 5.1v dc. Tx draws 1A, RX draws 2A.

On this last note, do you have any suggestions on the best way to rig the receiver with monitor and batteries for a focus puller to use on a shoot?

I made a video detailing how I would do this with a little 1/4-20 swivel ball mount - have to upload that...

Thanks again and congratulations on the product.

Thanks again Ivan ! We are cooking up some amazing stuff for you guys in the lab.

happy holidays to all!

Hey Bob,

The P-tap regulator cables output 2 amps because the Arrow receiver unit requires 2 amps to operate with optimum performance. Also this will allow you to charge your phone, tablet or other usb device at a faster rate than your normal 1 amp output!

Hope this helps.

Hey Bob - more specifically amperage is a measurement of capability or draw - meaning that a device that draws less than 2amps will be fine.

like in your home you may have an outlet capable of outputting 15 or 20 amps on the breaker, so when you plug in your 3 amp TV set you have no problems - when you put 30amps on a 20amp breaker you have problems ;)

We utilize the Pro Motion Picture grade Chipset from Amimon.

super Cool announcement for existing Arrow Customers and new Arrow buyers coming _very soon _ ;)

I'm planning on buying an Arrow kit pretty soon. Does this mean I should hold off?

Yea, maybe I should hold off too.

On a separate note, is it safe to modify the provided PTapUSB regulator to draw power from Alexa R/S 24v outputs? In one of your forum reply, you mentioned that it can do 8-24v. Just trying to figure out alternative power sources.

You can use REGULATOR with 8-24v. This is our add on USBTap. Our stock USBTap takes 7-22v input.

there is no penalty for buying now - in fact there is a decent incentive for Anyone who buys prior to dec.31

you will end up better off buying now no matter what your needs are.

best,

Dan

Hi everyone!
I have some questions for focus pullers who work on a pro level:
Anyone using it? I'm thinking to use it with wireless FIZ. Is the delay short enough to pull focus?
I was using Teradek before, but the delay was too long, so I sold it.
Please share but those who used it on paid jobs, not testers.
Thanks!

Hey Alexey,

you can use this with absolutely no issues regarding delay. If your AC likes pulling focus from a monitor, this will work perfectly. This is like using a cable, except its wireless :)

Teradeck what? Bolt or Cube? I am assuming Cube since the Bolt 'just' came out?

Dan,

Can you elaborate? I want one, but I was going to hold off for a while since it's not a pressing need at the moment. I sourced a local reseller, but I doubt they'd be working between now and January 2 anyway.

Thanks!
