Hey everyone,

just wondering if anyone has experienced issues where their arrow + Rx's go down after 3-4 hours. I've had my kit (1:4) on a feature for 2 weeks and the working hours of my Rx's seem to be getting shorter and shorter as the days pass. Yesterday I tried to update the firmware on two of my Rx's and they both died. There is not second button on the unit for a hard reset and I've called paralinx and they thought it was a software issue. I tried the 3rd unit and it upgraded no problem. I'm starting to get pretty worried about the issue as I kind of got the feeling from customer service yesterday that they wanted to wash their hands of the arrow + units and offered me a 10% discount to upgrade in the case the units were fried. I don't want to upgrade, I just want my units to work. I also kind of got the feeling that they don't service arrow + Rx's. Could be completely wrong I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with Rx's shitting the bed and how it worked out.

thanks

Had one of My RX go down on a feature.. was super pissed cuz it was a big part of my plan. Paralinx got me a new unit to use while they tried to fix mine.. but it was kinda lame. I sold my Arrow+ shortly after. Plan is to grab a ghost eye or something similar..

How are you powering your units (specific power supply or battery please) and is there Velcro or anything blocking the vents on the receivers? What cables are you using on the receivers?

What happens when you power cycle them after 3-4 hours if they aren't working ?

Also (common misconception for some reason - even though it's in the manual) - the buttons are NOT for reset... The buttons only initiate pairing. So if you initiate the pairing sequence when they already aren't working it will only add more frustration to your process.

No Velcro - not blocking the vents. Power is AC/5V out from DP6 USB or dtap (paralinx cable with regulator). Tried multiple cables/power sources with all 4 units and 2 are just wonky and got worse until the firmware update yesterday now 2 units are unresponsive. In the process of filling out the rms for service of those units now I'll update when I find out what's wrong.

DP6 USB output is only .5amps.

Arrow+ receivers require 2.1amps of current availability in order to function properly.

it may be possible your barrel connectors are loose on the 5V - even if they seem like they're locked in they might not be making full electrical contact.

Sorry to hear the firmware update was a no go, and hope all goes well with service.

Alessandro, Dan is totally right, powering with a steady source is mandatory for these units.

The units going down after a while is heat related...it happened to me in a *REALLY* hot environment.

Try to put the transmitter away from the DSMC1 bodies top fan and the receiver away from the back of the monitor which is connected to.

Usually both are major heat generating appliances!

Dan, still on the Paralinx drug after all this time, huh? ;)

What can I say, even though I'm no longer part of the company, it was a huge part of my life, and I hate to see someone using it suffer if something isn't working right for them :)

I have a feeling they will take good care of you, customer service was always the number one thing I imbued in the genetics of that company.

It's also worth noting we often forget about the amount of Collateral RF generated by the systems we use , Epic is relatively well shielded - but I've seen monitors that exude more than a little bit of RF pollution in my day.

I own 2 teradek 600Bolts and love them!!! switched from Paralinx and never going back had nothing but issues with my arrow

Did Paralinx ever tell you what happened with the ones you firmware updated that stopped working?

I've just had my Arrow Plus TX stop working. Despite no interference doing the update, radio 2 in it didn't and won't update from 2.x.x to 4.x.x and now it won't connect to the RX which updated fine.
