Buying that 55" Samsung was stupid. I knew it at the time, but I still bought it. Oh well..

I hope someone ships a display like this at the 50" size, could definitely use something a bit smaller than 55" at the moment.

Everyone keeps talking about 4K resolution and color gamut. Yet, no one says a word about black levels. Bottom line, LCD without real back lit local dimming is not really that useful.

They say they have back light scanning and local dimming? So is that not the same thing (I couldn't decode their jargon properly)? Not my field of expertise... but my basic feeling is I am happy without plasma/oled blacks levels if a properly installed bias light is used (at 15-20%)... It is cloudy uniform blacks from edge lighting that I find really tricky..

Seeing that there will be analogues of these made for european market (TX-##AXW804 made for UK market & TX-##AX800E for rest of Europe) i'm guessing that there will be also TC-50AX800U for US. Main point being - more reasonable price (half of 65"'s, comparable to other top tier vendor prices) for wider potential buyers niche, while still also having DP 1.2 required for UHD60p input from current GPUs, like 58". Of course, if 3rd party input board mentioned in Seiki thread will take off, Seiki with that board might be even cheaper, but still this 50" seems one to get from choice available in nearest months.
