  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Panasonic 11 series plasma monitors

I can't speak to the differance. But I have a 50 inch 11 Series and a 50 inch 8 series. Apart from resolution they are very close. I can grade on one, send the footage to the other and they are scarily close. I'd advise not waiting for the 12 because if you do, you'll just be worried about the 13's.

The whole color balance will remain the same, but the new generation ones will have better gradation and more tuned to be close to CRT. That is what I see in the prototype I saw.

Eizo CG 232W

Eizo CG 232W

Has anyone looked at this monitor? Eizo is de facto color management monitor in the still and pre-press industry, now they have a broadcast monitor that when connected to your laptop can be hardware calibrated with use of a colorimeter.

The panel’s wide gamut reproduces broadcast-standard color spaces such as PAL/SECAM and HDTV. In addition, preset color modes for Rec. 709, EBU, SMPTE-C, DCI, and sRGB are available at the touch of a button.

3D LUT (look-up table) allows for previewing how colors will be reproduced on the final film print

This is a dual purpose monitor, on set reference, and in post editing, only it's not cheap.

I've used the Eizo CG 211 for years and would not do a proper shoot without them.
