Okej, this might be a stupid question but i was thinking about if you could record the raw-file in pal or ntsh or if the raw-file i "neutral? I found that i could choose either pal or ntsc for the video preview output. I mean, are all red-cameras the same or is there pal cameras being used in europe and ntsc cameras being used in the US? Is it first when it comes to editing that you choose wich format you want to work with?

2.nd question: Can the menu language be changed or is english the world standard?

hi marcus,

in HD there is no PAL or NTSC anymore ... only the framerates derive from there: 29,97 / 30 / 60 fps in NTSC-land and 25/50 fps in PAL-land. You have to select your timebase / framerate in the menu, but you can change it for each media - all red cameras are the same.

hope this helps - regards,
martin

btw, this happend to me and my crew a couple of years ago on a concert shoot - cameras where provided from japan ;-)

Thanks!

Does anyone know wich shutter angle that should be used when working with a timebase of 25 fps but shooting in a place with 60hz?

A shutterspeed of 1/60th would be great. Any shutter speed divisible by 120 (2x 60hz) Its easier on this stuf to display the fraction on a second not shutter angle.
Or check this out:

Good luck.
