I have a client that requested the footage I'm shooting on my scarlet be converted to pal 1080p 25 fps. I was planning to shoot at 4K HD at 25 and convert to 1080 in red cine X. Is there anything else I need to do?

Thanks,
Tony

if you shoot 24 usually on other/earlier projects make sure to also change the project frame rate to 25 and not only the video frame rate...
you'll notice it anyways as the frame rate text turns yellow if the project and video frame rate differs (disabling audio)...

pretty sure you're aware of that but just to mention :)

Thanks for the info. The client is combining my footage with some canon 5D footage. They are editing in 1080 at 25 fps. Just to be clear when I do the conversion to quicktime or prores there is not a pal version. It just 25 1080. Is that correct?

if you want to really make sure ask them if they edit in a real progressive or in an interlaced timeline as you'll have these options upon export (and as some NLE's like older versions of MEDIA 100 still struggle a bit with real 25p monitoring since it was not a standard for qute some time)... There's not a PAL version but there ARE different interlaced and progessive options for 1080 formats - maybe you're able to ask a bit more specific for that. But it's not like as big as a "NTSC > PAL" difference.

Greetings,
Peter
