Hello!

Anyone on here ever attempt to repaint or refinish the exterior of the camera?

Been thinking about exploring options to cover up usage and scuffs...

Thoughts?

Thanks!

There were vinyl "skins" a while ago -- some with textures on them and stuff... I'm not sure if they're still available. Painting it would likely void your warranty, though I supposed you're already out of it.

I have NOT done this, so caveat emptor, but if I were to attempt to repaint with whatever is available at Home Depot or Lowes, I might give the RustOleum Truck Bed Liner paint a try. I've done some minor tweaks on camera bits and sprayed them with this paint and it is a very close match. Not exact, but good enough. Provides a rough surface feel to it.

One thing I'd be concerned about is the paint affecting the heat retention of the camera and that might be a big issue for the truck bed paint. I just don't know how it would affect things, which is part of the reason I haven't tried it on the brain.

I would rather have a scratched Dragon, than a new one. :)

No I will not swap... scratches have to be earned :)

I knew a photography equipment dealer who used Gun Blueing liquid for touch ups.
Try at your own risk, of course.
