  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

PAiD CHALLENGE 4 Tribal Logo

... the logo needs to be simple, NIKE like, with lines executed to hint the purpose and significance, giving presence to the subjects named on first post.

... If I take some one photos and they don't like them, I sure can't expect to get paid for something the client is not going to use.

hmm ... interesting thinking, Ketch ... though i would consider this ... ;-) ....

summary: 100.000 USD, no alternatives, one solution ...

then this:
QPS .... Quality, Speed, Price ... pick two ... ;-)

But see Detlev, I don't need to pick two, and even so I have admiration for what Steve has done, I copy or follow no one, others follow me, I'm a leader not a follower, and have my very clear opinions and likes, even if my ways might seem not correct to others, they are to me... ;)

Correct, but the actual Lettering and design of the actual name is separate form the actual LOGO.

.... here may be a flaw in thinking, it is actually not.

A logo is usually composed of type and/or a graphic icon and is ideally based on a "Design Identity"
... which is a predefined system of mathematical proportions, color scheme, font family and such ...

... sometimes it goes the other way around ... and the design math emerges from the "logo artwork",
if the artist is aware of such. Anyhow, to achieve the effect of "nike" or "mercedes benz" ... or "deutsche bank"
such knowledge is used ...

In professional Corporate Design, this is a major step and guidance for all later work.
Which helps to adapt the "Corporate / Design Identity" in the different media (aka applications)

It is a little bit like pre-production ... which is somewhat more important then directing or editing, since many of the decisions are already made on the desktop ... or directed for that matter.

Hope this is useful advice and helps you to translate your vision to reality.

cheers,
Detlev

P.S (edit):

QPS .... Quality, Speed, Price ... pick two ...
is a fundamental problem (law) of economics. it is always valid - unless a disruptive, new system comes to life, that solves all three - and in the same split second, it is active again.

Just saying, if you want "nike" ... guess it comes with "nike dollars" and "nike professionalism" as indicated in the video,
which is in summary to hire the best specialist that understands your objective, goals and your generous soul ... and translates this into a logo that you love and that spreads the love ....

Well you see Detlev I do agree with you as I already knew this and agree that it is the norm, and usual way... But is not my way.

I don't want to follow what others have been doing for years, I don't do this in ScreenPlay writing, not in Movie making, nor do I do so in real life, I prefer to experiment, and try new ways, been original in thinking and doing, I will reinvent the wheel if necessary to get me what I want, count on it... ;)

BTW, I don't want to sound arrogant, which I know at times I do, its just that I'm sure of myself and what I want in and from life, and I go about getting it, I do respect the rules, well, not all the times, as I do believe rules also exist as guide lines and are meant to be broken too, I look at how things are done, and once I understand it, I go about it in what ever way I fill fits best my goal and purpose.

No one at this stage and time in my life can tell me that I need to do it this way or no way, and that this is the way it is, because it is not so for me, and that it is a fact.

But I do also appreciate the inputs, suggestions, and directions given as I know they are given to guide me to the right direction, just hope that the same is understood that I also have the right to choose what path to take in anything I do, including on how I decide to go about creating a logo... ;)

excellent!

you´ve got a great heart and i have learned from experience, that such can be misguided ...
sometimes, everything is at hand, but with the wrong set of eyes, cannot be visible ...

... for some reason, i care ...

;-))

i wish you good luck,
if the right person "feels the pull",
some extraordinary work may as well see the light of day ...

... which would absolutely ROCK!

Btw:
there is also a site called http://99designs.com/logo-design that could help fill your need.

THANK YOU!!

Just a quick note, expect our submission sometime this week.

Look forward to it Jay, been receiving several submissions, some very interesting deign concept, some better then others, but still lots of room to do better, and there are still 10 Days left... ;)

UPDATE.

Well, I'm humbled at the amount of response this has had, and goes to show how many multi talented people are here in our community.

Some designs reflected exactly what I asked, while others are really out there... ;)

Last days left, while some have already made revisions, I expect few more to com in and I look forward to the final decision at the end of the month.

UPDATE:

This CHALLENGE is now been officially CLOSED

This has been a great RIDE, and I'm truly thankful to the dozens of submissions, by both REDUSER members and friends of REDUSER members alike, your submissions were amazing, but my needs were very specifics so I only could chose what exactly give me what I needed!!

However, since the submissions, presented me with a very difficult decision on which logo to go with, I then decided to go with individual logos for each company and organization, taking a total of "4" logos.

Leaving me with the dilemma to chose how to split the reward, beside the initial payment.

Coming to the conclusion that the 10K initially offered as a reward, was not sufficient for 4 LOGOS...

For this I have decided and informed the Chosen Logo designers, that there will be a Total Reward of "30k"

"20k" wil go to Patrick Grossien and Petra Maisenbacher which design together the logos for "KETCH ROSSi STUDiOS, KETCH ROSSi INDUSTRiES and KETCH ROSSi HUMANiTAS".

and

"10k" will go to Joseph Mancha which designed the logo for "KETCH ROSSi TREE of LiFE".

"20k" will be further reward for the designing of the conceptual vistas of the "KETCH ROSSi TREE of LiFE" Megaproject to Manuele Trullu, which like the others has worked tirelessly with me in this past weeks ot bring all the changes neded till I was happy.

Oh... One more thing, be prepared to be truly BLOWN away off your CHAIRS as I'm about to make an important announcement... ;)

THANK YOU AGAIN TO THIS INSANE, TRULLY INSANE COMMUNITY OF GREAT ARTISTS!!
