Pretty stoked about the new RED offerings at Trek Pak... Makes me rethink the way I carry Red stuff.

Many times I need more gear than I can manage to carry with me, so maximizing on space in these cases is a MUST!

I'm fitting almost 3X as much gear in one Pelican 1510 case!!

It would be sweet if Red offered an option like this on cases they sell! More accessories to fit in :)

Check out the pics below. This is the most stuff I've ever fit into these cases... are there other packing methods you guys have found that are like this??

WOW. That looks amazing. What's the exact order you placed? You seem to have figured this our perfectly. You think there is enough padding for lenses? Or just more robust elements like camera, SSDs, etc?

it looks well organized do you think epic body will fit with riser+top plate in there?
http://trekpak.com/pelican-1510/ this is the one right? im gonna order inserts for sure thanks James..i dont want to show my 1510 :P gonna look awful next to your setup.

Not exactly the one I ordered... I would shoot them an email directly. I actually dropped by their office to get things figured out, as they're conveniently located here in Denver :)

The way it's pictured is pretty much maxed out on space... literally can't get another cable in there :)
Just depends on how much gear you want to jam in the 1510. If I took out a few batteries, or replaced the charger, there would be space for a lens. It's a tricky give and take.

I would email Trek Pak directly, they don't have the "RED" insert setup online yet, but if you contact them directly they'll get it dialed.

They do have options for a 1560 case, which would add quite a bit of space. Just like Red products, the Trek Pak products are SUPER customizable!!

Has been looking for a good case for a while now. Ordered one right away. Thanks for info.

For $20?? Yea that's a great buy. Thanks for the heads up!

They are great but if you put things in them, you might not be able to stand your redbricks up like you are doing. Just a heads up to keep the right side empty.

I'd be pretty uncomfortable packing that much stuff so tightly into a case. It might be ok for carrying across the room, but loading in and out of anything where there is a possibility of dropping the case (which is to say almost any situation) puts your camera at risk. That body is very heavy and so are the batteries. Forget about putting this on a plane. I think there is a reason that god made foam...

Although I am pretty paranoid on the subject, having had some damage in cases, even packed with foam.

Isn't this case paked like this for carry on? I wouldn't send it anywhere.

I've asked the airport agent to handle a tripod with care. He told me : "nothing is handled with care in air transportation". ("il n'y a rien de fragile dans l'aviation").

You need a lot of foam!

I love the Trek Pak inserts. I use them for all the REDs we have. We put our Epic at the bottom of the case for weight reasons. With WC easy Riser and 15mm Rods, and top plate. In the cable tray, that space has a pad in it to create a tight seal around the camera so it doesn't move around.

I share the same fears. It seems to me because the gear is packed in tightly and the Pelican is designed to absorb shock, theoretically the impact would be mostly absorbed by the case... I think the physics of that make sense? It seems safe enough that I'm going with it :)

Definitely designed to carry on. Trying to keep as much with me as possible. I'd rather this setup than shipping other gear in a meter of foam ;)

Sounds like a good setup. Are you liking the WC easy riser?

We put the camera at the top to keep the camera as far away from the wheels/vibration as possible in the case, as well as the side next to the handle so if the case were dropped while being held, the camera would be further from the impact.

I just got 3 of the Trekpak insert kits for 1510's and have to say that I absolutely love them! They allow you to configure a case any way you want in minutes, with no nasty pick-n-pluck foam. I am using 2 for my camera kit and 1 for my sound kit. And then I have 2 1510's with laser cut foam for my lenses. I can easily get all 5 of the 1510 cases, a Miller tripod, and a small ARRI light kit in the back of my Mini Cooper!
