I have been using in the past a P-tap to LEMO connection to power the Redone on steadycam. I would like to know if it is possible to do the same for the EPIC. I have asked few people that makes cables but haven't been completely sure about the viavility when heard things like "fuse" no "Fuse".

Anyway, would it be possible to use the P-tab to Redone LEMO connector and add the lemo adaptor for the EPIC on top of it? Or even beter have one custom made?

Any things I should specifically ask the people that makes the cables?

Thanks,

Ivan C.

Yes we can make a custom cable like that. The fuse can be an issue on certain plates, or you may lack fuse protection all together. But some plates don't even have a fuse, and on those plates you'd be fine.

Yeah, it's entirely posible to go P-Tap to Epic, you could use your old cable then go with the red adaptor cable, or get someone like Terry West at South Bay FIlm & Video to do it ( he's probably the go to guy out here. Not necessarily cheap, but he's fast and the stuff is incredibly good quality)
his email's techrat531@verizon.net.

*edit* Sorry Jason, we were typing at the same time...didn't realize you guys were doing that one as well

I know I'm a bit off topic, but since you guys are talking about cable, rather than creating a new thread, I thought I'd just hijack this thread :)

I'm wondering how can I power an Epic out of a Zephyr steadycam sled…

If I have a V-Mount batterie at the bottom of the Zephyr, plug it into the sled (bottom), then I would come out of the sled (top) with a Lemo 3 PIN… Then I want to feed the Epic…. I couldn't find such a cable.

I found some for the Red-One on Tiffen's website, but nothing for the Epic…

Is anyone has any idea of what I need and where to find it?

Thanks in advance,

Julien
