Hello All,

I am curious. I am from Europe and If I go to North America and buy RED camera there.
What will I have to pay if I want to take the camera to Europe and do the ownership transfer to my name?
Is it going to be only ownership transfer fee or anything else?

I need to know if I can search in North America as well.
Or only in Europe.

Thank you very much

It is irrelevant where in the world you are (both parties) - the process is the same.
If you are flying to the States to actually buy the camera before taking it home to Europe - I would recommend you get the seller to ship it to RED for the compulsory "once-over" inspection. Once RED is satisfied the camera is in working order and is able to transfer the title - you can arrange for the payment and the transfer. Then pick up the camera from RED...

In addition taxes may need to be paid in the OP's home country , VAT for sure & possibly some duty as well.

Yes. VAT definitely and I guess duty definitely a well. Thank you.

You may do better to buy in Europe as the Czech Republic is in the EU, customs duties will have already been paid by the original buyer so you wouldn't have to pay them, and also shipping costs will likely be lower.
Have the seller send it to Red Europe or Germany to have it inspected and for ownership transfer before shipping to you.

You will have to pay sales tax/VAT in the Czech Republic though, unless you are VAT registered and can claim it back.

Really thanks for the info and advice. I was just asking if some offer that you can't refuse appears in North America. But yes. I guess and I am going to buy it at the end in Europe. Unfortunately I can't claim VAT back. From Germany that would be the best because RED is in Berlin I guess and Berlin is 200 km from me. :-) Thank you for advice. I appreciate it. So: 1) Seller send it to RED Europe 2) They will check it and do the ownership transfer 3) Send the money to the original owner 4) RED will send the camera to me. I got it. :-)
