This is my first real project with the red camera and red cine. I shot about 10 minutes of footage and was able to open in red cine on my PC. The DP and I went through all the shots and did some minor color correction. The footage looks amazing. The questions are: 1, how do I clip only the best stuff, there is no instructions (even in the quicktime tutorials) about how to get rid of the pre roll and post roll. 2, Is is possible to save these scene to a harddrive as a red project so I can use Medafuze and Avid Media Composer for posting. I have no problem opening the original project on the REDDRIVE and going to Mediafuze and then to Avid but I cannot figure out how to get the color corrected footage saved so I can access it in Mediafuze with the correction. 3, I been reading these post and it sounds like I should be trying this with something called Red Rushes and it should be faster. Is this correct?
Hope someone can help. Seems like there should be some kind of support for RedCine.

First off RedCine is not an editing program. It only color corrects and renders clips (or part of clips).

I work on Mac but RedCine works the same as far as I know.

I edit with either proxies or quick color corrections in RedAlert and make Quicktimes with RedRushes. Then after my edit is complete, I do final color corrections on the clips (or portions of) that I'm using. Then take those final rendered clips back into my sequence to replace the proxies or one-lights.

In RedCine, you can set in and out points under the Shot tab for each clip so you only have to render what is needed. The in and out points works in frames from the beginning of the clip though, not in timecode.

You can save the Red project and a Red project or if you specifically save the project with an extension of .xml, it will be an xml file (it wont save the color setting though as far as I know, so save it twice).
