  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hi guys,

Sorry if this have been covered - i've been searching all over.

After getting some high res displays, I would really like to output to more than 1080!
Been thru loads of codecs, but can't seem to find a suitable one that will actually allow me to output to 4K, or even 3K!

I know of some like Cineform, DPX, etc. but that is for archiving and handing over files for further work. Isn't there a simple codec to use?

Thanks in advance :-)

cineform is fine as a final codec, archival, or intermediate.....
by simpler codec....do you mean lower quality?

h264 level 5.1 and up will do 4k according to the specs....not sure of an encoder that will do that though

Thank you! AME can encode into 4k in level 5.1... I didn't knew that! Thanks - exactly what I needed.
