  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Our Fashion Video - mostly handheld - 1 Lens

I don't think I would say it is too long but there is a point where my interest wanes a bit. Cutting it down would likely help, but the problem may be more narrative/structural than overall length. It may just be that I don't understand the subject, but frankly I think that is what propels my interest. It's a fine line you are walking between piqué of and loss of interest. I think that tension is working for you, but it can be difficult to strike up the right balance for everyone.

I'm just a guy who wears t-shirts everyday so consider the source before you get annoyed but this is an honest question: Why call this a fashion piece? I get that there is a fashion theme at work, but this doesn't have the feel of fashion to me nor does it show looks or clothing that people wear, does it? That is what fashion is about, no? I would call this a performance art or dance piece. I get that fashion in it's highest form is performance art, but please explain for me your choice to call this a fashion video.

Thanks.

It's Jake-:)
If you couldn't figure out the conform issue, you still could render your timeline as a Prores 444, import it into Resolve and use it's auto detect function to cut the timeline into the scenes. Better yet, export EDL and use it to cut the timeline with. Then you could use Resolve to grade and would still ended up with better result, than using AE. And much faster too:-)
Do you have a full Resolve or Resolve Lite? If you have a real Resolve, I can help you out with the grade remotely...

Sorry for the Jack, Jake :)

Thanks for your inputs,
I'm running the Lite version - will look into the matter in the next weeks.
will get back to you!

Hello Scott!

I understand your point.
The Film is actually only an introduction for an exhibition/installation addressing the fast fashion issue and trying to propagate recycling fashion.
Fast fashion as a result of our crazy times unfortunately consumes a waste amount of precious resources - amongst the most important, humans and water.

If you manage to read or translate this from estonian - here a story about the whole project:
