Hi,

I have just bought the Origo start/stop button. I am going to attach it to a Red handle for hand held work.

What is the best/shortest/most convenient cable length for this application? Is the 2.5 straight cable the way to go? is the coiled cable best? I really dont want the cable hanging around the front of the camera.

I guess it would help me to know whereabouts the Origo actually plugs into on the camera. If it has to run from the hand grip at the front of the camera to the back of the camera somewhere, then 2.5 feet would make sense.

I'm pretty sure it's the back of the camera Rob, but best to let someone who's got one confirm it. Let me know when it arrives as it would be great to play with one in person.

Hi Sam,

Will do! I will give you a call when it arrives.

If it is attached to one of the back ports of the cam, I guess that is why the shortest cables they sell is 2.5 feet.

I am starting a new doco which will have lots of handheld work so that is why I am getting it.

Cheers

Hi Rob - yep the straight 2.5 cable is the one to go with for hand held with the RED handle.

Good luck with the doco.

FYI We do make a cable slightly longer than 2.5 feet. It is a cable for the Element Technica Mantis rig. I want to say the cable is about 2 feet 9 inches with a right angle connector. 2.5 should work for most rigs as is.
