  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Does anyone know if the original RED EVF will work on the Epic X and or Scarlet?

Hi Steve are you sure the origanal EVF works? and if you do have the old software how do you upgrade it. As I have plugged my original EVF to the Epic X and it doesn't work. Where did you read about the EVF Software?

Just from various threads from people asking the same question as the other Steve.

There is no way to upgrade the firmware on the EVF - RED have to do it and they haven't made any comment about it. I'd suggest contacting your Bomb Squad Rep and seeing what they can do.

Old EVF works with NEW cable oly !

I recently tested an old EVF form a friend going the stage 3 route, at first it seemed his EVF did not work, then just to make sure, we plugged it in with the new cable I got with my Epic for the 5.0 touchscreen LCD, and... lo and behold, with the new cale his old EVF worked. I then pulled out one of my own old cables, and once again his EVF did not work with that cable either, and I know my cable works fine (on our R1 with a Bomb EVF). There are apparently differences in cables. I've created a new thread about this, but it apparently went unnoticed.
