Dear amazing Red crew,

As my "to get from Red" list keeps growing, I really need your attention regarding the missing origin of product marking such as "made in USA." When I recently purchased the RPP's, I was charged a 10% fine by customs for importing goods without the origin of product markings.

I made a complaint to the customs people with some facts that each lens had its boxing with the origin of product marking and that it was mentioned on the FedEx shipping label. Nevertheless, they say it's required to have the marking on the actual product, nowhere else.

This doesn't only cause the unwanted fine, but also causes about a week of delay at the customs since I have to hire a person to put the "made in xxx" stickers on every item.

Please consider putting some markings on all the Red products for countries that has regulations like this. I really hope that you will at least put stickers before shipping out. I will upload a couple of stills of my RPP's with the stickers. Too bad I need to pay about $2500 for my RPP's. I could put this money into buying 17-50 zoom. Ouch.

Best Regards,

I remember someone saying that their RED zooms had "made in England" on the box, and their Primes had "made in Singapore" on the box. Very rare to see items made in the US anymore, though being Canadian, Im not sure what is eligable for the tag "made in USA".

Andrew -

I appreciate your input, but I didn't mean that there needs to be "made in USA" on Red products. Whatever the country a Red product is made (England, Singapore, Japan don't matter), we just need it to be engraved or at least to be stickered on the actual product.

Thanks,

Re-read the original post, I get what your saying now.
