Hello all,

I am awaiting my Scarlet which comes in tomorrow!
I had a question regarding what most of you find to be an effective Order of Operations..

I have Adobe Production Premium CS5.5, and I guess my question is:

Once I've finished shooting and I am going to injest my Red MAG, which apps do I use, and in which order.
Do I Import through
1) Red CINEX
2) Than Adobe Media Encoder
3) Than into Adobe Premier CS5.5?

If this thread exists, or a suggested order in which bringing footage to a timeline and maintaing the highest quality is out there,
that would be great! Appreciate all of your input and suggestions in advance,
Thank you!

adobe media encoder is going to be your final step, unless you want to transcode.

you can go straight to premiere, or flip back and forth between premiere and RCX... rcx just has a nicer UI for setting your first color pass. all that info is metadata in an RMD file that both applications read/write

Thank you Paul,
I wasn't sure if RCX was an important step, on RED's Site I got the impression that it was used for Pairing audio and such, but if all that can
be done within Adobe Premier, than I really don't see much need unless like you said you wanted to make quick adjustments to color.

Appreciate the feedback

are you trying to cut r3ds natively in cs5.5 or in a proxy codec?

Well thats the thing, I haven't had a chance to really work out a workflow, was hoping to get a few suggestions?
Does CS5.5 natively handle r3d footage well, or is a proxy needed?

just drop it in and cut away... you'll be hooked.
