  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Optitek Optimator

"Optimator is a high precision instrument that, regardless of environmental conditions assures

precise sensor location (camera back focus, sensor flange depth) checking and adjustment.

The purpose of this instrument

- Check the Flange depth of the sensor

- The max resolved number can be recorded(written down) for future reference

- Generate reference frame

- Check camera real resolution

- Check camera light sensitivity

- Make all tests identical, “laboratory condition” compliant regardless of location

- Communicate sensor issues remotely by emailing reference frame grabs

- Create sensor test standards that all digital cameras can be tested to."

Thank you CJ, it was very encouraging to meet you.
I've been pretty quiet about this because I don't want to follow "broken promise " pattern on this forum by some companies. I've seen it cause a lot of problems for Redusers that made plans based on these promises.
At this time we are on schedule for late September delivery of the first units.
I've been pulling long hours for a long time to keep the time to market to minimum.
I'm pretty sure that the prices are set and will verify that tomorrow.
Band Pro is the only distributor and sales entity.
Please contact Michael (michael.bravin@bandpro.com )
and Nir (nir.reches@bandpro.com) with purchasing questions.
They are professionals, pleasure to deal with and very commited to make Optimator a big success with Redusers. We talked about it a lot......
The number of Redusers as potential customers will influence pricing for sure so the more Redusers show interest the better it will get...
One more thing- there will be no engineering compromise with the Optimator- I'm absolutely convinced that the production units will be the best they can be...:thumbup1:

Actually there are four-the 18-85 bracket as well.
I'm loving what Red is doing for the industry...

The pricing mentioned in the video, as far as the Optimator is concerned- is not current. I anticipated it at the time but there were some features added in the mean time. Among other things, we made the lens barrel out of stainless steel to put closure on thermal stability issues, we added real neutral mount to improve sensor centering test and have more mounting choices, better optical design that improved the sensitivity.
Having said that I don't think I was off very far. I will find out later today and
report...
Oh yeah - I almost forgot-I have a SPECIAL SURPRISE for everyone so stay put..
(just kidding, but since everyone else says that here and the "special surprise" theme seems to go long way at Reduser it felt awkward not saying it...)

I'm not sure what the big deal is about pricing info but I will find out and let everone here know. I've been really busy this week and did not follow up my calls to BandPro. You guys are free to bug Michael and Nir at the email addresses above...

Yes Sanjin you are correct and thank you for bringing the Optimator to Redusers attention!!
After all I don't know if I'd have done it if it wasn't for Red and this community..
You are as always a walking library of cine gear Sanjin...
