  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Optitek Nikon Prolok for EPIC - shipping yet?

Hi Jacek,

It has been over two months since I paid for the Optitek Nikon Prolock for Epic...each time anyone requests an update it seems quite generic.

Please PM me concerning the options for refund of funds...I think I will pursue other options at this point.

In my case, Jacek has been very responsive via email. I understand from him that assembly is on-going, and that he is working hard to catch up on the orders. I paid in July, and if all goes well, I'm hoping that my mount ships next week. I've purchased from Jacek before, and had a good experience, so I'm confident he will come through with his usual aplomb.

PS - For what it's worth, I noticed he has two email addresses: jacek at optitek and jacek2 at optitek -- it seems to me that mail to the first email address gets a quicker response, but that might be misinterpretation on my part.
 
Email him for a response. I'm sure he's been flooded with orders but after some wait mine was shipped. He's been responsive for me.
 
May have to approach it like the WHO ORDERED STAGE 2 post, where Antonio maintains a list of who ordered and who has received.

Deduction suggests that orders placed in Early/Mid August are going out now.

I ordered in late August (2 months ago) so this hopefully means mine will be arriving soon.

Looks like a great design that is well made. Great combination!

Just had a crazy 12 hour day with the Nikon mount. Passed with flying colors. Quite pleased with the locking mechanism etc. using nikons for motion picture work, not so much a big fan. But if you must, or have your heart set on it, this is the mount to get.
 
I received mine today, it's an absolute work of art finely engineered. I have not put it on the camera as I am shooting mainly with PL glass at the moment, I know it will get used just not sure when!

Care to share how much it costs? I am interested in it too but can't find info in Optitek's site.

$995, I don't know how he can make it for the price, a huge amount of work has gone into building it. Thats about the same price Fries Engineering was charging 30 years ago for a standard Nikon mount.
 
My ProLok arrived this morning! Looks very solid. Epic is out on a job but will be back tomorrow and can test it out!
