Has anyone used the Optica Elite 120-520mm f/2.8 lens?

What other PL tele zooms should I consider?

Oh cool, thanks, I didn't see that.

"In arsenal of the company there is a single lens in the world — Elite Reverse Perspective Lens with the inverse perspective. In this lens the idea is incarnated, which was expressed by scientist Raushenbah one hundred years back. It essence in that that back plan does not decrease, but increases. The change of perspective is in the range from 2 to 15°. All Russian icons are pictured in inverse perspective. This manner was used by many prominent artists of the world. While possibility of the lens is limited by maximum distance of the shooting equal to 750 mm, but it is important that under its development and fabrication a set of new glass of the original constructive decisions was used, and the main is that a scientific idea is incarnated in metal and glass."

Well... actually I still dun't get it... :umm:

(sorry about the slight thread jacking)

It's a 182mm front, and the weight is 16 kilos. Is that small?

Ive googled reverse perspective to find nothing but diagrams and paragraphs.
I do get the concept.. but i dont see how a lens can do that.

Is it just me, or does that look small for a 120-520mm f:2.8?

I've seen it at ARRI London (Have not received my own yet) it's a monster!!!

It makes the Optimo and even the Master Prime zoom look like little babies.

They've used it a lot on Bond etc.

Not sure what you criteria is but check out the Century s2000, it is a 150-600 T 5.6. You will need good support. It will almost fill half the frame in 4k.

I would like something that goes up to, say, 300. And smaller/lighter than the Elite. 120-300mm would be perfect.

I meant to say the moon will almost fill half the frame in 4k.

Somewhere I have a photo of the Elite mounted on a Phantom HD. Really I should say it's a Phantom HD mounted to the back of the Elite! That thing is a monster. Beautiful lens.

I'm currently using a Sigma 120 - 300 2.8. Sharp. Not cinema lens, but way, way cheaper. I hadn't realized Sigma made lenses as nice as the one I've got. May suit your needs.
