We work as technology consultants and end-installers for ultra high-end audio visual installations in some of the premiere homes and superyachts worldwide. One of the problems we face is how to integrate larger TVs (84” is becoming common) into rooms without ruining the aesthetic – this is particularly an issue when the screen is switched off displaying a huge expanse of black glass. Whilst we often use motorisation techniques to move joinery and even walls to conceal these TVs this is not always practical. As an alternative we’re trying to champion the use of video art to make the screen a feature that switches on automatically with the lighting in the room. We have recently invested in opening a large exhibition and demonstration space in Great Portland Street, London (right near the Royal Institute of British Architects). We have a number of video displays in this space (including a 3m video wall, 84” 4K screen, and 4m wide projection screen). We're hoping that by using these to show some great examples of video art we can encourage clients to come on board with this idea and purchase content. Obviously to succeed this relies on good quality content which is where I’m hoping we could strike up a collaboration with someone on these boards. If you could supply content, with a watermark if necessary, we could expose you to our affluent client base. If clients express interest in your works we could act as an agent on your behalf; or direct the client to you to negotiate a price for then - or even commission something entirely bespoke (something which isn't out of bounds for our extremely client body). Initially we would simply need any work you'd be happy to submit in data format - we'd do the rest and set everything up at our premises.

I have a feeling you'll get quite a few bites on this.

In terms of the actual content, are you suggesting more 'art' based content? It almost seems (reading between the lines) that this could be an opportunity to create some very interesting 'bespoke' content, that is free from the traditional client/Agency restrictions.

Shame I'm up to my neck in a CGI project at the moment (one that's taking all my time... teabreaks are surfing forums and that's about it LOL!).

In principle we're pretty open to the type of content that could be displayed. Ambient, non-linear art content that we could set to play on a loop might work well in the scenerio described above but there isn't really any constraints other than the content inspiring interest and looking fabulous. We're currently displaying an interactive piece on our 4K 84" in portrait orientation. If anyone has content that works in portrait this would be of immediate interest, that said like the above this isn't key.
