I've been looking at grip gear from Porta-Jib. Anyone have experience with their "FlexTrak"?

http://www.porta-jib.com/flex-trak.htm

We have 12' of steel track but on small shoots it's a pain to lug around and looking for something a bit more compact and portable. Don't like pvc or fence pipe. There is some knock off flex trak on Ebay also. Just want to know how well it really works. Seems it would roll around unless you were on the flattest of floors and it can't be wedged without using their channel to hold it.

Thanks!

I was told by a competitor that there were reports that the flex track stiffens up in cold weather. What I personally liked about it is that it can turn sharper corners then the other dollies

What are your thoughts on micro dolly and indie dolly?

We were looking at FlexTrak a while back and these are the issues with it from our research but not from personal experience since we didn't buy it.

It's compact, but heavy. I believe a roll weighs 40 - 50 pounds. These numbers are from my scattered memory, but it's in the ballpark. It's pure rubber, and that's not light.

It does stiffen in cold weather. Not a big problem if you live in the right area, but if you're in a cold weather climate you might have problems for a large portion of the year.

That's all I got.
