Hi Guys,

New here and not sure if this has been discussed before but when buying/selling RED gear, what is your preferred method of protecting both parties financially? Is there an Escrow Service you use which releases funds when items arrive at buyer location? I know paypal "can" be used but their guarantee seems like a grey area if the transaction didn't originate via Ebay.

I got scammed once using PayPal, the seller sent me a different item from the one he promised to send. It wasn't RED related though and it was out of eBay.

What I can tell you is this — if you have all the documents proving that the sale took place (invoices, e-mail/pm history screenshots, photos of the item in question and the one that you got etc.) you will ultimately win your claim and get your money back but it'll take time. The only trick is that PayPal will only charge scammer's card to issue you a refund after you send the item back to him and he receives it.

Took me about 4 months to get my money back.
