One titan x or two gtx 1080?

Which is the best for editing in premiere and davinci? One titan x or two gtx 1080? My guess is two 1080 cards is better in davinci and one titan x with 12g is better in premiere.

Also, which edition or third party maker of the cards do you recomend. For Nividia titan x pascal i have only seen "the founders edition " on sale. Is this the only edition of this card yet?

Titan X is 12gb. 1080 is 8gb. The 1080Ti is 12gb, so go for 2x 1080Ti's if you can.

Nvidia is doing a refresh in the next several months, so there will be a bump in card performance as the die shrinks a tad and gives you more clock speed and such. There may also be a VRAM bump with GDDR5X and possibly even HBM, but we don't have much in the way of concrete info since Nvidia is locked down to compete against AMD's new HBM-equipped monsters.

I would say get the Titan X, so that you could add one more later when the new models decrease the older prices.
