Not yet ... but soon.

Well it depends on how you define portable. There is an initial review of Promise raid array here http://reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?60811-Promise-R6-Thunderbolt-Raid-Array-First-Impressions

Got my 6-bay Promise RAID. Works pretty good. Not what I would call "portable" The 4-bay would be more "portable", but still not great and it's not as rugged as I would like a "portable" solution to be...

Hopefully we'll see more options soon.

throw it in a pelican, it's portable

That's what I'm doing Tom

But Jeff's assessment is correct.

The form factor also kind of sucks it fatter than the Caldigit raid it is replacing.

To get full advantages of thunderbolt the driver should be at least SSD or multiple spinning disks on a RAID configuration.
