Joe. Ya gotta love the audacity of it, if nothing else.

Maybe this could be the first sentence of your 1000 words:

You don't get the nickname "Broadway Joe" for nothing.

I kinda remember 'Showboat Joe' kicking around a bit as well.

Been watching some of the commercials - we don't get them during the game - and not really feeling blown away. Some cute, some fleshy, others kinda cool. I'm still jaded all these years later since the 1984 Super Bowl commercial for Apple computer.

I have to admit I never watched a Super Bowl before that, didn't even know who Joe Montana was. A friend talked me into going to a sports bar, which was just so not something I ever did. I must have been delusional. But, there we were, and I was actually enjoying the game, when on comes the commercial. It was dead silent afterwards - beer stopped flowing, pizza ran cold. You get the drill. Just bizarre.

As I understand it, this is the one and only time the commercial was ever aired. And I was there!! Hey, it's something I can share with the grandchildren if that ever comes to pass.

Yup, still the best SB commercial.

I remember reading a book about Joe Namath when I was a kid in Pennsylvania. When he was about 10 or 12 he would toss footballs through a tire hanging from a tree from about 40 yards away.

The man is notoriously brash and sorta earned that right when he boldly predicted his team would win at a time when nobody would ever dare make such a claim.

That was a great Super Bowl ad and I watch it before the Super Bowl every year just to see if anything will ever top it. Yes. It aired once and was directed by Ridley Scott.

This dodge ad last year was pretty good.

and Clint Eastwood in this one.
