  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

OK... REDCINE-X time.

Just noticed the audio waveform shadowing the bottom of the timeline, with a turn-down for multi-track detail and mute on/off. More wow!

uhhh... I know.... I've already told my wife not to buy me anything for Christmas cause I have this on my "for me" list. She's looking at another horse... so I guess we'd be even.

Fast Forward 6-12 months and the wow factor is seriously effin insane. Jim, Jarred, Ted, Deanann, Stuart, all of RED et al wasn't kidding a few months ago when they said despite the economy, "lots of stuff going on in RED garage." I'm trying to finish buildout on a production studio and keeping up with all this new stuff is daunting to say the least. So thankful for all the bright minds on here to sort this stuff out. And this excitement sure makes a lot of day to day worries seem worth it.

REDCINE-X and ROCKETCINE-X is so welcome prior to shipping EPIC, MONSTRO. SMART! and I trust we all can't wait (RED included) for all the 3rd party apps that are going to latch on to REDCINE-X. RED ROCKET....5K, 9K, 28K workflow. WOW!

RedCine-X is cool.

You make us think in-terms of more features and products and when we are thinking you are delivering it.

I tried playing with couple of clips in timeline by trimming and I'm not able to play my cuts as a single flow. Is this yet to be fixed?

Sorry for asking too many things. But just out of curiosity!
 
I'm REALLY surprised how well REDCINE-X works. Smooth playback, very intuitive... And it works well even on a stock MacMINI (1gbRam). WOW! :-)
 
Very nice application.
I don't know if this has been discussed before (too many pages...:-), render to prores 4 doesn't work, the video is black. On my laptop with Slow Leopard, FCS 3, I have to try with the mac pro in office.

No prores 4444 with leopard aswell.
 
I'm getting crashes with clips longer than 1 r3d. Are everyone else's long takes working?
 
Can't seem to find the Detail window behind the timeline... which is where I think it is... ;)
Would be great to hide or minimize (or even just drag around) the timeline.
Working on a tiny 15" MBP screen... any tips for finding that detail window?

Turn it off, then back on...it will appear on top of timeline.
 
The detail window is not showing up on mine. I only have a 15" Macbook pro screen so that may be the issue. I tried turning it off and on and still no dice. This is a good looking piece of kit here. Just wish I had a big screen.
 
Yeah, tried the toggle. No dice.
Still loving it as a point of departure though. WAAAAAY better than Redcine.

Toggling works for me. And I still need to do this - even on my 17" MBP or on the 23" Cinema display that I have. (I realize that this is ALPHA.)

Also, am I missing something, or is the ability to save a project not available yet? I can create a new project and choose where that project is saved, however if I add clips, make some cuts, quit the program, and then reopen the project nothing is saved. (Timeline edits, the clips in the bin, grades done on clips...) And I do not see a save option anywhere...

I can't wait for the Beta Build- this app is going to rock! Thanks for sharing the Alpha build with us. :)
