  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Official Post Your DSLR Still Photography Thread

These were my very first RAW images, with the venerable D100 and a 28-200 zoom, handheld with available light and some fill with the camera's own pop up flash. Graded one step through a LUT I of mine call "Ektar" to mimic the saturation of 25 ASA negative, so yes, they are purposely overblown...

Cardmaverick, I hope you can get your footage to look that great with a RED ONE. The last one is my favorite.

I'm sure I can... I just need to get my hands on one. For now, my current system will have to do. I just got back from shooting in the mountains, gorgeous time of the year to shoot.

Here you go, a couple of small scale ones from me, all taken here in Japan:

Can't wait to get my Red cameras on some of these subjects!

Cheers,

A few more shots, some of the first digital images I sold...

Some insane lighting going on in OC today. I snapped this from my balcony at around 11AM. All the smoke is coming up from SD, I think. Sort of a smoke-induced "permanent magic hour" all day today.

Thanks Tom,

BTW, how far are you from the fires? That hue in the sky is surreal...

I'm like 20 miles from the OC fires, and probably at least 30 - 50 miles from the ones in northern San Diego! I think most of that smoke in the sky has come all the way up from San Diego, which is quite far from here.

I've lived here all my life and have never seen anything remotely like this.

That is one very cool image!

Thanks.

I shot it an hour or two before sunrise just outside of Badlands National Park a few years ago on one of my solo adventures.

Interesting post Tom and some nice pics.

You ought to do *Official Red clip competitions. The idea being someone such as yourself Tom, comes up with a concept for people to go out and shoot a 10 or 15 second shot. I remember the photograph comps over at DVXuser, and this thread reminded me of them. Would make for interesting little competitions that could be done every so often.

Winner gets a red sticker or something :)

Here are a few from Dakota Country:

That is awesome.

Here is one I shot the other night of the Milky Way, taken near Mt Whitney, CA.

Canon 350D, 10mm, ISO 800, f/4, 90s exposure.

Still have fun in my Penthouse like a bird-of-paradise flower garden in Vienna.

All the time just watching euro2008 uefa football/soccer championship.

Concrete, is that a private, detached home? That is on a seriously awesome piece of land.
