  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

OffhollywoodBuzz.com is live

Looks very good. I can't wait for you to complete the gear section as I always love to see what kind of toys people use. I hope you include everything. By the way, I do have one question: If you are creating the site... Why is it an 'unofficial' site? What would the official version be like then?

Hey Mark, the only way off the front page is to cick where it says KEEP OUT. Might want to stick in an Icon or something -- or at least let us click on the chick in the bikini!

Good stuff Mark.. Keep it coming !!

How is the new building ?

Okay ... just a few quick posts to update since launch.

I've decided to go WEEKLY - posting every weekend. Next weekend I'll start the "rockstars" and "tips & tricks" pages.

Subscribe the RSS feed and you will know when new posts are up.

Mark are you guys basically a full-on production company that conceives, develops, shoots and finishes projects?

Hey Tom -

I like to think we are not "basically" anything -

Yes we are a full-on production AND post production company, but we are keeping the "conceives/develops" part on ice for the duration of building our new facility.

When we started Offhollywood 5 and half years ago - we didn't really have a business plan - but we believed one thing - that technology would change the way people create, finish and deliver content and that many aspects of the production and post production processes would ultimately merge - and there would be much confusion and chaos.

The best example I can give as to our approach to building the company is kind of like the "reverse" of Radical Media.

Radical built their business from the creative - ultimately representing a large roster of amazing directors, (40+ last time I asked) - Founders John Kamen and Frank Sherma also managed to navigated from the ad world to long form world, which few do well.

Radical eventually acquired OUTPOST DIGITAL, which meant the really acquired Even Schectman, founder of Outpost, now the CTO of Radical. (for the record, Evan is a brilliant guy and was a key inspiration from me to start Offhollywood)

Offhollywood is starting with the technology - then adding the creative.

This allows us to build relationships with other producers and production companies, which we can work many different ways.

We rent Red cameras and provide technical support/DITs to other production companies.

We provide post production services to other producers and production companies.

We provide complete production services - from start to finish - anywhere in the world.

Next year we'll launch a creative development arm, along with some other things ...

Does that make sense?

Part of me thought this was a joke and the link would redirect me back to the offtopic page of Reduser.net. :-)
