  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Offhollywood signs new lease in SOHO!

Any news, or even new pictures to share yet ?

I really look forward to seeing the awesome new office, where dreams turn into real moving pictures.

New blog is up to keep you up to date - http://buzz.offhwd.com/

Construction is moving along ... much slower than originally expected - but we are doing it "right" - it is "significant" and it will be truly a "one-of-a-kind" environment drenched in technology - well worth the wait - I promise!

That's what I was thinking, that's why I can't wait to catch a glimpse ;-)
But as I already replied to the good news about Buzz going live again - I'm really thrilled about that and will snoop around there for a sneak peak of your new office.

And since we are on the subject - I wanted to once officially state that you and your team at Offhollywood are a true inspiration for all of us!!
Keep up your great work!

This is roughly 1/2 of our floor being gutted - we remain fully operational in a painfully small footprint behind a temporary wall -

Soft launch of "Offhollywood 2.0" should be early/mid June.

Grand opening in late July with our 36 seat DI theatre/screening room with Dolby 3D.

We are currently working on securing more space on another floor for camera checkout & service area -

Mark, I'm really excited for you. This looks like it's going to be great! I love the vaulted ceilings. Cheers!

Any chance of you opening a new studio in Soho.......London??? I'd get a job so i could play with all the gadgets you have before anyone else ;-)

Mark, congratulations to you and your staff. Also this reminds me, thank you for all the great info since the early days, your approach and enthusiasm is contagious. :-)

The timelapses looked like a lot of fun and the music was perfect! I need to find a way to make a pilgrimage... if you are ever in Chicago, please get in touch.

Cheers,

Andrew

I am on a Red shoot April 30th through the weekend with a fairly hard turn around for a film shoot the 4th,5th and 6th of May (these dates may shift though). Just in case... Mark, what time is the event on the 5th? :embarassed:

Thanks man, I hope I can make this somehow... it looks great.

I think you should make clear that you are more of a post production facility than a rental house. I rented a camera body from your company in February and was surprised to find a under construction almost unstaffed facility that told me I'm mistaken to take them as a camera rental place after I asked to subrent a fluid head with the camera body. The body worked great btw. I decided to rent from you based on the high profile you represent on this board.

Florian - Rome wasn't built in a day. We are aggressively expanding the camera rental side of our business with more gear on a weekly basis in addition to new hires. I hope we can work together again in the future and I think you'll be impressed how fast we are moving in the right direction.
