Props to Mark and the Off Hollywood crew. They have put in the time to put the RedOne to the test in a wide variety of production environments with demanding clientele. They found ways to integrate into existing post-production infrastructure and have beta tested a number of hardware and software solutions that have benefitted us all.

Cheers and good on ya' - Blair

"Not to rain on the congratulatory parade here, but while offhollywood certainly has no shortage of experience with RED gear, they do not have any experience in repair. I have the utmost respect for Mark Pederson and the offhollywood team and I've kown them all for 7 years, but to depend on them for a crucial part of my business when they have show no prior experience in this sort of field leaves me unsettled. This is not meant to be an OH bashing, but as this decision acutely affects my own business I have to speak up. A company that is known for using interns to perform just about any critical job that may come up is not the place I feel comfortable sending my equipment. I hope to be proven wrong."

We have put Offhollywood through a serious training program, and... no one has experience repairing the Red One besides Red. I have the utmost confidence that Offhollywood will offer quality service to our customers.

... you can always send it to Red HQ if you want

This must be a logistics nightmare but a huge step in the right direction, but then again i expect nothing less from you guys! Offhollywood is a great stepping stone from scam to world domination  so i must ask.... any chance of you crossing the line and shifting your focus 180 degrees to the southern hemisphere?

Home country??? Good to know! :)
If that's the case...then drop one of those centers in Winnipeg...since we ARE directly in the center of Canada and can access both coasts with ease.
( little known fact: Winnipeg is STILL the reigning champion for "Test Marketing Capital of the World")

Hey where have you been man?! didnt you know... Jarred was raised by wolves

Not to rain on the congratulatory parade but this is quite a slippery slope to make a production/post company your service center. Offhollywood competes with not only rental facilities but also production and post production companies. This creates a conflict of interest and puts competing services and somewhat of a disadvantage. Notwithstanding their ability to service the cameras, it seems like a facility with a service center already in place and a proven record for providing camera repair would have been the more kosher choice.

Ah come on Emery. Mark deserves it.

I see your point to some degree, but if and when it comes to Toronto, the RED service centre will most definitely be at a place that is a 'competitor' to my company. But I will still HAPPILY go there for RED servicing, and love it. Having a local service centre, no matter who it is, should be welcomed by all in New York, politics aside......you guys are lucky to be the first, and you should thank Mark for that, not be upset about it.....

I do congratulate Mark. We've known each other for 7 years and I have first hand experience of how hard he and offhollywood works. My post has nothing to do with them specifically. The problem is offhollywood competes in nearly every sector of the market and it simply creates a conflict of interest.

Don't they only provide services to productions over $1 million? Would be nice for the little guys if they made it official and/or raised it to $2 million minimum.

Oh yeah. Congrats to Offhollywood!

This is something we are taking extremely seriously. We are fully committed to providing excellent service to RED ONE camera owners. We are in the process of expanding our camera facilities and staff in an aggressive way and I am more than confident that any concerns anyone might have will melt away when we are open for service. We are excited to exceed any and all expectations.

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement!
