  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Offhollywood Red Camera Test Shoot

These are by far the best and most informative shots I've seen yet. No major Highlight clipping, No highlight haliation or edge effects (redalert might be doing something funny) Great histograms. WELL DONE!

Any idea on what lenses where used for which? Obviously the canon 300 for the slide shot, but other than that Red zoom or zeiss?

(quick and stupid basic grade below. Vignette needs some noise to get rid of the banding)

It might not be AS great as you think. The shadow on the asphalt I assume is being cast by the truck running along side the car. So its not a car in full sunlight against a full shadow.

These pics are very impressive though. It was nice to look at a couple of the pics which only had information in the bottom half of the histogram. You still get a fairly decent image from it when bringing up these underexposed parts

When properly exposed the clarity is great and noise free. I'm much more excited about the camera as a whole now.

All PS play.

I had to give it a go using After Effects. I love CCing using the masking tools. Prob. could have Photoshopped it quicker than in AE but I figured at 5am I would do something crazy... :sarcasm:

All the images look great from the shoot, Its great that they decided to post some images in HQ so people could really see the latitude. :weight_lift:

so much fun...

Sorry, but how do you get it into photoshop, when I download I get it as a quicktime movie.:waaa:

Thanks for hosting the frames Mike, and thanks to Off Hollywood and crew for creating them.

Mark & Mike, thanks for posting these! Great examples of RED quality. The detail is truly amazing!

Mark, please let us know when the Tekserve event is going to happen in NYC. I'd love to come and play. Not all of us live in Orange County! ;)

My take on a car still image. I added a lens flare to the highlight and Slight vignette using multiply mode in photoshop. Oh and I comped in a Sky background. :)

Thanks so much for the stills!

Are you still posting daily updates to Zoom-In ?

Love the first one

Is the file a .Tif ? you on PC or Mac ? sometime defaults get mixed up and the default app for tif maybe QT ?

Si
I´m on a mac, when I click the link a new window opens and the quicktimelogo appears. after a while the image is shown in that window. I rihgtclick the image and saved it. Then it became a mov-file. I tried to put tiff after the name and open with photoshop but photoshop reficed to open the file.

right click the link and hit "save link as"
