  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

OFFHOLLYWOOD in HAITI

Well this is the REDUser forum, so they post pictures of their people with their RED's, what's wrong about that?

How can one's view about charity be so negative?

Let me ask again, what did YOU do for the cause, not "other countries/people"?

i agree totally with you. sure charity, aid, all these things at times need looking at, (but seriously why in this forum?).

The point is, we all do what we can to help. we are not perfect, and those like offhollywood, who are doing something, however big or small in this cynical and often hateful world... it matters.

Just got back from a self insured shoot in Haiti (insurers were strangely reluctant...). Shot for Swiss TV & charity - raised 21 million dollars in one day alone.

That being said the beautiful and spirited people of Haiti will need more help on a massive scale because right now you have 1.5 million people living in makeshift tents under horrific conditions with absolutely no sanitation.
When rainy season starts in April things will get VERY ugly. Keep giving and supporting. They need help for a decade to come.

We shot a narrative RED feature in and around Jacmel, Haiti last spring. It would be very powerful to contrast past and present architecture and surroundings with footage from the 2 shoots.

Every thing is just fine guys!

I just was amaized that the first flag that was blowing in the wind at Haiti airport was a US flag. But great that the us army helped.

Just was amaized that the only song all these great artists could sing is "We are the world" dated from 1985. But great help from all these artists.

Just was amaized that looking at the pict Offhollywood sent we saw people proud of their REDone's.

Great that everyone can help. But we can also understand who the people are we are helping and be less imperialists!

My 2 cent, you like it or not.

BTW other countries/poeple helped.

I'm swiss.

I have to be honest Patrick, I don't get this at all. I don't claim the US is perfect, in fact hypocrisy has plagued us in the past on many issues throughout the world and hasn't exactly left a positive impression at times. No doubt, there have been American agendas that perhaps did not give the proper consideration to the consequences of our actions. But I think you have to show some respect to those who despite an increasingly difficult economic situation, are still reaching into their pockets either with cash donations or donating services and time. I'm not talking about the celebrities who you see in this video. I'm talking about the hardworking people of the United States and other countries who probably could use an extra 20, 50, 100 bucks in their pocket but realize the suffering in these poverty stricken nations is far greater and find it in their hearts to put their own needs/wants aside and give to a cause 1000s of miles away.

This has inspired me to donate even more money.
