Yes - and this is how I think most multi-cam shoots will want to work.
But you can also connect many cameras to router and use one iOS device to control all of them.
You can also config a router and use an IP address to control a camera through the internet - from the other side of the world
Holy hell..... I can have Ketch Control my camera!!! This thing just became Super Awesome (That's better than awesome BTW)!
