MONITORING
As a monitor, Odyssey7Q features a 7.7” OLED screen with 1280x800 resolution. Additional exposure aids include a programmable false color mode, zebras a waveform monitor (luma or RGB parade) and a histogram (luma or RGB parade).
There are also LUTs built in for proper viewing of the LOG and RAW modes available from numerous popular cameras, with programmable LUTs coming in the future. For precision focusing use our pixel zoom with two levels of magnification and a programmable focus assist with three styles of enhancement and a large range of adjustability.
RECORDING
As a recorder the Odyssey7Q captures multiple signals and formats reliably to Solid State Drives. Odyssey7Q records HD or 4K Apple ProRes 422(HQ) or uncompressed video DPX files. Several record Options are available for purchase and/or rent via this website to allow recording of RAW data signals from the ARRI ALEXA, the Canon C500 or the Sony FS700. Convert the RAW signal into high quality compressed video files for quicker turnaround in post. Additional recording formats will be added via firmware updates.
PLAYBACK
You’ll always know you got the shot; record with confidence and quickly toggle to Play Mode to watch your clips. The touch screen allows you to intuitively scrub through your clip or use the Step or Fwd/Rwd to get where you need to be quickly. Don’t hesitate to use your monitoring fu

In the initial testing phase, Convergent Design has rejected just 0.2% of the assembled units before shipping them to clients.

The Odyssey7Q is supplied with a Convergent Design AC power supply (replacement part CD-OD-AC-PS). This is a universal switching power supply that can be used throughout the world, and comes complete with several interchangeable plug connectors. Only use a Convergent Design AC power supply on the Odyssey7Q. The Odyssey7Q can accept DC power ranging from 6.5-34v. Depending on monitor and record modes, the power draw from the Odyssey7Q can range from 8-15w.
