I've been in a the RED family for several years now, and as I sit here and reflect on how my journey has gone, I think one word best describes it...INSANE!. It has been an absolute roller coaster ride, with ups/downs, and everything in-between. One thing that has remained constant though is my trusty Epic MX.

When I first joined the RED family, it was something that I always wanted to do, but, at the time, required a hefty investment which was the only reason why I hadn't joined sooner. Eventually, I had to bite the bullet...so I took a leap of faith and paid the nearly $75k for an Epic package - one of the best decisions of my life.

Since owning a RED, I have never felt more in control of an image. The power behind the camera (even this "dated" Epic MX) is astonishing, never ceasing to amaze me.

However, times are progressing rapidly, with RED spearheading where our industry is going, I decided that it was time to get into the DSMC 2 model lineup. With a Scarlet-W on order, here's my Ode to my trusty Epic MX....you produced some killer imagery and I can't wait to see what this next year entails!

Chris! Anybody can look at your reel and clearly see that YOU DO NOT NEED A NEW CAMERA. Keep ur hands off of my allocation.....!

Very nice work, Chris. I've always liked watching your clips.
The quality of your work seems like you'd be the type of guy to always have the latest stuff, but you've been getting the most out of that MX!

Congrats Chris! Your gonna be a beast with that Dragon especially in that DSMC2 body.

Thanks Jamon...I sure hope so. haha

haha! I ordered through a distributor a while back...guessing you ordered through RED...so I won't be anywhere near your allocation! hehe

Hell yeah Chris. Stoked to see what you do with the Scarlet-W

Yea, I'm excited about DSMC2's power for sure!

Thanks man. I do try and always have the latest/greatest, especially when it comes to electronics, and don't get me wrong, I wish I could have afforded a Weapon, but the Scarlet-W will do just fine and is def'n a step up from my MX.

I think we will love the Scarlet-W. I ordered from RED on December 10 so I might be ahead of you. Maybe. This will put us in line for the the next sensor as well. In the meantime I was early and lucky enough to be one of the folks to get an Epic Dragon loaner!

Your new B camera kicks some serious butt !
Nice stuff!
The MX sensor is a beast.
